# The Unarticulated Context

**One sentence:** The decisive layer of context for AI is the tacit one - purpose, values, uncertainty, relationships - the layer humans carry without naming because among other humans it never needs naming.

**Articulation:** Left unarticulated, AI does not leave the gap empty; it fills the tacit layer with generic assumptions, and the human, having nothing of their own articulated to compare against, adopts the machine's assumptions as reality. Articulating that layer cannot be done by asking yourself directly; it takes the practice.

**One-liner:** The machine never leaves a blank space blank.
