# The Turn

**One sentence:** The turn is the engine of WILD Intelligence: taking what is authoring you unseen, holding it at arm's length, testing whether it is yours or installed, and re-choosing from what is actually yours.

**Articulation:** The material can be an inherited script, a first thought that is not yours, a flattering story, or the machine's default. Made and maker are headings, never verdicts. The turn deposits a self only on contact with consequence, which is why no machine can run it for you.

**Recognize / Respond:** the moment is any strong certainty or want you never chose. The response is the arm's-length question: is this mine, or was it installed?

**One-liner:** The first thought you have is rarely yours. The second one can be.
